Proof that christianity is indeed a death cult

The proof that christianity is a death cult is evident not only in the bible itself, but in the actions of christians. Motivated by scripture, christians have been almost perpetually at war since their religion began. But before I go on to the behavior of christians, I will highlight scripture from the bible that clearly demonstrates how violent and death oriented it is.

David commits multiple murder:
"And he brought out the people that were in it, and cut them with saws, and with harrows of iron, and with axes..." (I Chronicles 20:3)

Then he commits mass murder after the conflict has stopped:
...Even so dealt David with all the cities of the children of Ammon. And David and all the people returned to Jerusalem.

God commands Moses to commit mass murder:
"And Israel joined himself unto Baalpeor: and the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel. And the LORD said unto Moses, 'Take all the heads of the people and hang them up before the LORD against the sun, that the fierce anger of the LORD may be turned away from Israel.'" (Numbers 25:3-4)

How about the book of Judges, in which Gideon not only commits murder after murder, he sires a child who then goes on to murder 69 of his half-brothers. He also made an agreement with god that ended in mass slaughter then ROBBED THE BODIES AND GRAVES of the murder victims in order to obtain jewels for his vestments: Scripture too long to post here, read Judges chapters 6-9

God commits mass murder of firstborns in Egypt:
"And it came to pass, that at midnight the LORD smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sat on his throne unto the firstborn of the captive that was in the dungeon; and all the firstborn of cattle. And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he, and all his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt; for there was not a house where there was not one dead." (Exodus 12:29-30)

God commits mass murder with disease:
"Either three years' famine; or three months to be destroyed before thy foes, while that the sword of thine enemies overtaketh thee; or else three days the sword of the LORD, even the pestilence, in the land, and the angel of the LORD destroying throughout all the coasts of Israel..." (I Chronicles 21:12)

"So the LORD sent pestilence upon Israel: and there fell of Israel seventy thousand men." (I Chronicles 21:14)

God threatens to kill:
"And Moses said, Thus saith the LORD, About midnight will I go out into the midst of Egypt: And all the firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sitteth upon his throne, even unto the firstborn of the maidservant that is behind the mill; and all the firstborn of beasts." (Exodus 11:4-5)

God kills men, women & children:
"And he smote the men of Bethshemesh, because they had looked into the ark of the LORD, even he smote of the people fifty thousand and threescore and ten men: and the people lamented, because the LORD had smitten many of the people with a great slaughter." (I Samuel 6:19)

And again:
"Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I remember that which Amalek did to Israel, how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt. Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass." (I Samuel 15:2-3)

Moses commits mass murder of women,men and male children, but keeps the female children alive for sexual slavery:
"Behold, these caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to commit trespass against the LORD in the matter of Peor, and there was a plague among the congregation of the LORD. Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves." (Numbers 31:16-18)

Murder with a side of rape and sexual slavery:
"Every one that is found shall be thrust through; and every one that is joined unto them shall fall by the sword. Their children also shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses shall be spoiled, and their wives ravished." (Isaiah 13:15-16)

The scripture most often used to justify the murder or abortion doctors:
"And surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man's brother will I require the life of man. Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made the man." (Genesis 9:5-6)

The scripture that fueled the Crusades and is still used by military leaders to justify war:
"And we took all his cities at that time, and utterly destroyed the men, and the women, and the little ones, of every city, we left none to remain." (Deuteronomy 2:34)

"And we utterly destroyed them, as we did unto Sihon king of Hesbon, utterly destroying the men, women, and children, of every city. But all the cattle, and the spoil of the cities we took for a prey to ourselves." (Deuteronomy 3:6-7)

More mass murder:
"And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity: Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and woman: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house." (Ezekiel 9:5-6)

The future (which means only 144,000 people will survive and be admitted into heaven; all others CHRISTIANS INCLUDED will be slaughtered):
"Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads. And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel." (Revelation 7:3-4)

"And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power. And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads." (Revelation 9:3-4)

"And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty [and] four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads." (Revelation 14:1)

"...the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth. These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins." (Revelation 14:3-4)

Murder due to religious intolerance:
"Ye shall utterly destroy all the places, wherein the nations which ye shall possess served their gods, upon the high mountains, and upon the hills, and under every green tree: And ye shall overthrow their altars, and break their pillars, and burn their groves with fire; and ye shall hew down the graven images of their gods, and destroy the names of them out of that place." (Deuteronomy 12:2-3)

"The righteous shall rejoice when he sees the vengeance. He shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked." (Psalms 58:10)

More religious intolerance, with the added priviledge of plundering the spoils:
Stand in silence in the presence of the Sovereign LORD, for the awesome day of the LORD's judgment has come. The LORD has prepared his people for a great slaughter and has chosen their executioners. "On that day of judgment," says the LORD, "I will punish the leaders and princes of Judah and all those following pagan customs. Yes, I will punish those who participate in pagan worship ceremonies, and those who steal and kill to fill their masters' homes with loot. "On that day," says the LORD, "a cry of alarm will come from the Fish Gate and echo throughout the newer Mishneh section of the city. And a great crashing sound will come from the surrounding hills. Wail in sorrow, all you who live in the market area, for all who buy and sell there will die. "I will search with lanterns in Jerusalem's darkest corners to find and punish those who sit contented in their sins, indifferent to the LORD, thinking he will do nothing at all to them. They are the very ones whose property will be plundered by the enemy, whose homes will be ransacked. They will never have a chance to live in the new homes they have built. They will never drink wine from the vineyards they have planted. "That terrible day of the LORD is near. Swiftly it comes – a day when strong men will cry bitterly. It is a day when the LORD's anger will be poured out. It is a day of terrible distress and anguish, a day of ruin and desolation, a day of darkness and gloom, of clouds, blackness, trumpet calls, and battle cries. Down go the walled cities and strongest battlements! "Because you have sinned against the LORD, I will make you as helpless as a blind man searching for a path. Your blood will be poured out into the dust, and your bodies will lie there rotting on the ground." Your silver and gold will be of no use to you on that day of the LORD's anger. For the whole land will be devoured by the fire of his jealousy. He will make a terrifying end of all the people on earth. (Zephaniah 1:7:18)

God commands his servant to commit mass murder:
"Go up, my warriors, against the land of Merathaim and against the people of Pekod. Yes, march against Babylon, the land of rebels, a land that I will judge! Pursue, kill, and completely destroy them, as I have commanded you," says the LORD. "Let the battle cry be heard in the land, a shout of great destruction". (Jeremiah 50:21-22)

Even innocent babies are not spared by god (fascinating when you consider the pro-life set, who use the bible to justify their beliefs):
Then Zimri, who commanded half of the royal chariots, made plans to kill him. One day in Tirzah, Elah was getting drunk at the home of Arza, the supervisor of the palace. Zimri walked in and struck him down and killed him. This happened in the twenty-seventh year of King Asa's reign in Judah. Then Zimri became the next king. Zimri immediately killed the entire royal family of Baasha, and he did not leave a single male child. He even destroyed distant relatives and friends. So Zimri destroyed the dynasty of Baasha as the LORD had promised through the prophet Jehu. This happened because of the sins of Baasha and his son Elah and because of all the sins they led Israel to commit, arousing the anger of the LORD, the God of Israel, with their idols. (1 Kings 16:9-13)

And that is just a small sampling of the atrocities committed in the bible, both by christians and by god himself.

Just as troubling are the atrocites committed by christians in the name of their god since, using biblical scripture as justification:
The Crusades ("...kill them all, for the Lord will know his own.")

The Spanish Inquisition

The reign of the Knights Templar (who met a violent end themselves)

Hunts, trials, torture and murder of innocent people accused of withccraft in medieval times

The creation and widespread use of the Malleus Maleficarum

European witch hunts which left multiple villages empty of women and young girls, who were tortured and killed

The Salem Witch hysteria

The Holocaust (Hitler was a christian who believed himself in charge of a holy mission to wipe out the Jews)

Jim Jones mass murder-suicide in Guyana

Jeffrey Lundgren and his cult (who murdered an entire family they saw as sinners - who were also members of the church Lundgren formed)

Heaven's Gate (Mass suicide generated by leader who loathed himself because of his sexuality, they believed in a mix of biblical doctrine and UFOs. The suicide was triggered by the Hale-Bopp comet)

Murder (both carried out and attempted) of abortion doctors, justified by scripture

The current war in Iraq (Bush has openly talked about how his fundamentalist beliefs motivate his decisions)

Fred Phelps and his congregation picketing funerals


Need more proof that christianity is a death cult? I don't see how (though I can definitely provide it). The bible openly states that murder of non-believers and other men, women and children is justified - even commanded - by god, and I have listed many examples of how christians have been motivated by scripture to kill or take their own lives.

If anyone can examine this evidence and still think the christian god is all about love and that the religion itself is not a death cult I truly pity him or her for their inability to see the truth. Continue on with your heads in the sand, living under the yoke of an oppressive, violent, anti-woman religion while the rest of us actually enjoy our lives.
